I've been pretty disappointed in Handmade Galleries, myself. I've gotten a couple neat things as gifts there, but I find that place exhausting to wade through trying to find the gems. In other words, there's a lot of crap. On the other hand, as they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I'm just not patient enough for that store. I've seen some very cool decopage cigar purses that I would love, but they're in the $80+ range and that's just too rich for my blood. I also know that this is something I could do myself, but I've never been an arts and crafts type. I do like unique stores because at least it's not like going to different malls and finding the same stupid thing in every single one of them. I just find Handmade Galleries a little overwhelming. Sort of like a swap meet, but not quite as bad.

I'm a big fan of searching the Hand Made store on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks for some cool unique and affordable gifts.
