Once a month Auntie Em’s Kitchen in Eagle Rock presents a Farmers Market Dinner. Everything on the menu is made with ingredients from local Farmers Markets.
The dinner costs $32 per person. The meal includes: soup, salad, entree, cheese plate and dessert. The experience is worth the cost because the food is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasantly low key.
The restaurant offers wine by the bottle or the glass. The Colorado Wine Store, down the street, helps pair the wines with the menu. You can bring your own wine as well, which is a good way to keep costs down.
It is lovely to have a nice meal prepared by people who genuinely care about their craft. If you’re in the LA area, I strongly encourage you to check with Auntie Em’s and sign up for the next Farmers Market Dinner.
Here is the menu from the dinner I attended:

Note to self: “American Typewriter” is a wicked good font for menus.

Wow I this place sounds fabulous, I can’t wait to try it out, and I can’t wait to find out where there’s a fresh meat market!
