I keep a small container of personal stuff in the office to help me keep up my appearance in case of an emergency. I call it the “At Work Image Emergency Kit.”
Here are the top ten essentials I keep in my kit:
- Shout Wipes
- Lint brush
- Safety pins - I was happy to have these handy when the hem fell out of my pants once
- Lip Gloss
- Bobby pins and hair ties
- Dental care - floss, toothbrush and toothpaste
- Nail file for the occasional broken nail
- Nail polish for runs in my stockings
- Contact lens solution
- Eye drops - gets the red out after a long day of staring at my monitor
What am I missing? Is there anything you keep around your office that would be a good addition to this kit?

Kim I keep lotion, Vit C aid (I’m constantly getting sick at work), and tea bags (as well as loose tea and a tea seeper). With my work, its pretty normal to be dirty and hairy. But at least I always have herbal refreshment and am well moisturized!

I also have a travel razor, shaving cream, after shave, mouth wash, and cologne in my kit.

@Ronit - Lotion is a great idea. I get dry hands from the hand soap provided at my office.
@Michael Davis - Those are good suggestions for a guys emergency kit.
